Fruits of Rarotonga, located along the southeast coast in Tikioki, is widely celebrated as one of the premier snorkeling locations on the island. This vibrant marine park is defined by a shallow, protected lagoon that is absolutely packed with massive coral bommies. Because it has enjoyed long-term protection, the density and variety of marine life here is spectacular, making it feel like swimming inside a giant, natural aquarium.

You can wade straight out from the golden sand into the waist-deep water and immediately find yourself surrounded by schools of convict surgeonfish, colorful butterflyfish, and bright bluefin trevally. For a truly unforgettable encounter, keep an eye out around the deeper coral structures where giant trevally, moray eels, and sea turtles sometimes cruise through the reserve.

A mild parallel current can pick up inside the lagoon here, especially when the south-easterly winds blow, so packing a pair of fins is highly recommended.
