Directions

The Leslie Road entrance is the best option. From here, it’s only about a 15–20 minute walk each way (around 1.5 km return) on a flat, easy track that follows the Waihou River. The path is well-formed, family-friendly, and gives you stunning views of the crystal-clear water almost the whole way.

At the end of the trail you’ll reach the viewing platform overlooking the Blue Spring, where you can take in the incredible blue-green colours that make this spot so popular. Swimming isn’t permitted here to protect the water quality, but it’s still a brilliant place to relax, enjoy nature, and snap some photos.

Parking is available right at the Leslie Road carpark, making this the most accessible way to visit the Blue Spring without committing to the full Te Waihou Walkway.
