The hike to Sorapis Lake is one of the most beautiful trips in the Dolomites. In fact, the lake is very well known for its intense color, with shades ranging from light blue to teal. This coloration comes from the very fine rock dust carried by the eponymous glacier, which, as it melts during spring and summer, gives life to the lake.

Starting at Three Crosses Pass, follow trail No. 215. This is a varied and scenic trail with several ups and downs but slight overall elevation gain through a beautiful forest with views of Cristallo, Popena, Cadini di Misurina and Tre Cime di Lavaredo. After a flat first part follows a more challenging section with some metal ladders and exposed sections along a flat ledge, equipped with wire ropes. The hike from the parking lot to the final destination will take you around 2 hours.

The hikes get very crowded, I would suggest to start early or go late in the afternoon.
