Mercure Hibiya Hotel
Hotel in the heart of Hibiya, Tokyo
We absolutely loved staying at the Mercure Tokyo Hibiya Hotel, it was such a great choice!
The location is amazing; it’s within walking distance of Tokyo Station, which made all our planned day trips so easy.
Plus, it’s close to some major spots like the Imperial Palace, Ginza, and even Hibiya Park if you’re after a bit of greenery.
The hotel itself is newly built, and it’s absolutely stunning, offering a touch of luxury without feeling over the top.
The rooms were super comfy, and the service was amazing. If you’re looking for convenience and style, this is the place!
A trip up to Shibuya Sky is a must—this open-air observation deck offers unbeatable panoramic views of the city, and if you time it right, sunset here is simply magical
Sightseeing
Shibuya Sky
Sky-high views in Shibuya
Shibuya Sky is hands down the best spot for those epic views of Tokyo.
From the top, you get an unbeatable 360-degree panorama of the city, and on a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji in the distance.
It’s not for the faint-hearted though, if you’re afraid of heights, you might want to skip this one (hubby Mat spent his time hugging the walls in a frazzled hot sweat - certainly not ideal).
But if you're up for it, put it at the top of your list!
The views are especially stunning at night when the city lights come alive.
Just a heads-up, sunset is super popular, so book at least a month ahead to avoid missing out!

After taking in the skyline, head down to street level and experience the chaos of Shibuya Scramble Crossing. You can either watch the hundreds of people scramble across as the lights change, or stand back and take it all in. It’s one of those “only in Tokyo” moments. For a great photo, pop into one of the nearby buildings with a view.
Sightseeing
Shibuya Scramble Crossing
Iconic crowded Tokyo pedestrian crossing
Shibuya Scramble Crossing (also known as Shibuya Crossing) is one spot you absolutely can’t miss in Tokyo.
It’s busy all day and night, but there’s something especially spectacular about it after dark, with the neon lights lighting up the whole intersection.
As the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing, it’s incredible to see up to 3,000 people crossing at once, every minute!
If you're in town on a Friday or Saturday night, make sure to slot this into your plans.
That’s when the crowds are at their thickest, and the energy is electric.
Trust me, it’s an experience you won’t forget.
Next, it’s time to switch things up with a bit of adrenaline. Because OF COURSE you already have your international license. So head on down, hop into a go-kart with Akiba Kart Shibuya and cruise the streets like a local celebrity! You can dress up in some super fun costume and weave your way past some of Tokyo’s most iconic sights. Be warned, you WILL be popular. You'll have people waving and snapping photos of you as you go.
Sightseeing
Akiba Kart Shibuya
Shibuya Go Karting Experience
The Shibuya Go-Karting experience is honestly such a fun way to see Tokyo.
Imagine racing through the streets of Shibuya, zipping past iconic landmarks in full costume. It’s like being in your own video game!
Just a head up though, you will need to be 18 or older and have an international driver’s license, so make sure to sort that before your trip.
It’s an adrenaline-filled adventure that lets you see the city from a whole new perspective.
Plus, you can use our Klook code KLOOKGABTK for 10% off when you book.
Make sure you book in advance so you don't miss out
Today you're gloing to wrap up your adventure with a visit to Tokyo Tower, Tokyo’s answer to the Eiffel Tower. The night views from the observation decks are absolutely stunning. It’s the perfect way to end an unforgettable day in Tokyo.
