Kiyomizu-dera Temple is absolutely magnificent and should be at the top of your Kyoto list.

You can pay a small fee to wander through the temple itself, or stick to the stunning outside vantage points.

Either way, the views of Kyoto from up here are stunning, especially during cherry blossom season, but honestly, it’s picturesque year-round.

The walk up through the busy streets is half the fun, don’t miss grabbing a snack along the way.

You can view it from outside (it's honestly enough for most) but if you want to take a closer look, you can buy a ticket and go for a wander.
