Nakatanidou in Nara is the place to be if you want to see the famous mochi pounding in action!

It's so much fun to watch the team work their magic, pounding fresh mochi throughout the day.

There's no set time, so if you’re lucky enough to catch it, it’s a great experience.

I’ll admit, I’m not a huge mochi fan (the texture wasn’t for me!), but it’s a must-see for anyone who loves it.

The shop is just a short walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, so it’s super easy to visit while exploring the area.
