The Lost World in Tikal, Guatemala, is a massive ceremonial complex dating back to the Preclassic period of the ancient Maya city. It features a pyramid aligned with a platform and three temples, showing influences from Teotihuacan. Over time, it became a focal point of the city, with various construction phases and significant changes during the Early and Late Classic periods. Despite Tikal's decline in the Terminal Classic, the Mundo Perdido remained active with burials, ritual activities, and residential areas, showcasing the enduring significance of this architectural marvel in Maya history.
