Crater Azul in Guatemala, despite its misleading name, is not actually a crater but a section of the river Arroyo El Pucté known for its stunningly clear and blue water. Located about 35 miles southwest of Flores, it offers a refreshing spot for swimming in a natural setting. Accessible by boat from Las Cruces or Sayaxché, visitors can enjoy a dip in the deep waters, surrounded by jungle foliage. While the area lacks amenities like changing facilities and shops, the beauty of the Blue Crater makes it a worthwhile day trip from Flores for those seeking a tranquil swim in crystal-clear waters.
