Being A Foreigner is a Privilege

I’d say use your foreigner privilege and speak in English. It’s nice sometimes to talk with locals and have a more authentic travel experience, without getting scammed. But even I occasionally pretend I don’t know the language, just to get better treatment and avoid being hassled.
