For the safest experience use taxis instead of walking in certain areas and keep personal belongings safe.
Cape Town may be a city of magnificent beauty but sadly there is alot of poverty, leading to street crime. I strongly advised using taxis instead of walking at night time, especially in busy areas, Sea Point, Camps Bay, Clifton. The V&A waterfront is a safe area and does not require taxis. Uber is easily available and extremely affordable. During the day it’s advised to not wear overly ‘flashy’ jewellery/watches and to not carry your phone in your hand.
