Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova is seriously one of Turku’s coolest museums. It’s actually two museums in one! Downstairs in Aboa Vetus, you can wander through the underground medieval streets and houses of Turku. Honestly, I could’ve spent hours exploring here, the narrow cobblestone paths, the tiny courtyards, and seeing where people lived and worked hundreds of years ago is just so cool.
Then, head upstairs to Ars Nova for contemporary art exhibitions. It’s such a fun mix of old and new, and all right in the city center by the Aura River.
COST: Adults €20, students €14, kids under 7 free. Check more price details from their website!
LOCATION: Itäinen Rantakatu 4–6, Turku
LOCAL TIP:
Don’t miss the museum shop, it’s one of the cutest in Turku and a great spot to pick up some souvenirs.
Inside, you’ll also find a café that you can visit even without a museum ticket and right next to it, you can see the old ruins and cobblestone street in the open.
