Helsinki Cathedral is the landmark you absolutely have to see, the kind of place that never gets old, even for us locals. Every single time I walk past it, I get that little “wow” moment because it’s just stunning.

PHOTO TIP: You’ll get beautiful photos just from the main square, but if you want that chef’s kiss angle, walk over to Sofiankatu. (third photo) You'll get such a gorgeous angle for the church, especially when the Christmas lights are on.

This spot is gorgeous in every season. But during December it transforms into this cozy and magical area when the iconic Tuomaan Markkinat (Helsinki Christmas Market) is held right in front of the cathedral. It's one of the most photogenic Christmas markets in Finland.
