In Fall 2025, we were hosted stay by Canyon Country Chalet — and it was exactly what Southern Utah dreams are made of, especially if you’re traveling with small kids.
I’ve been chatting with the owner, Katie, for months, and when it finally worked out that we could make the trip, I was so excited. When I say this is one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed in, I mean it — Katie has truly thought of everything, especially if you’re traveling with family or a group of friends.
There’s a popcorn maker, s’mores station, endless toys in the Adventure Cave, and even an original Pac-Man machine (Georgia’s new obsession). She didn’t even want to leave the toys for our hike — and honestly, I couldn’t blame her. Every detail is labeled and easy to use, which made our stay completely stress-free.
Before this trip, I hadn’t even heard of Duck Creek Village — but now I can’t stop recommending it. It’s the perfect central hub for Southern Utah adventures: about halfway between Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, with Cedar Breaks just 15 minutes away. If you want one cozy home base instead of moving every few days, this is it.
🌨️ Travel tip: In the winter, you’ll need AWD or 4WD — and don’t forget chains, as this sits at 8500’ in the mountains
