Cascade Brewery, located in South Hobart, Tasmania, is the oldest operating brewery in Australia, kicking it since 1824. Founded by Hugh Macintosh and his nephews, with a little help from the infamous Peter Degraves, this place has been brewing up a storm for almost 200 years. They've got a range of beers, from lagers to stouts, and even dabble in non-alcoholic beverages like apple juice and blackcurrant syrup. Plus, they offer tours and have a function center for those looking to get a taste of Aussie brewing history. Cheers to that!

Battery Point

Sightseeing

Charming historic suburb in Hobart

Battery Point is a charming suburb in Hobart, Tasmania, known for its historic houses and prestigious vibe. It's named after an old battery of guns that used to sit on the point back in the day. Nowadays, it's a posh area with fancy homes and apartment blocks, right next to the waterfront Salamanca area. The locals have been making noise about noise restrictions to keep their peaceful lifestyle intact. Plus, it's got some cool history, like tunnels under Princes Park that were once part of the old battery. Overall, Battery Point is a pretty swanky spot with a lot of character.
