The historic Keldur Turf House is one of the oldest and best-preserved examples of traditional Icelandic turf architecture, and it’s a fascinating stop on a South Coast road trip or an Iceland in June itinerary.

The official opening hours of the homestead are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Two tours are offered daily at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Visitors can explore the main hall of the Keldur turf house and the grounds. A guided tour of the interior costs around 2,500 ISK per adult.

In summer (typically June 1 – August 31), the turf farm is open to the public daily, usually from about 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also walk around the exterior anytime, and even outside of the official opening season you can view the turf houses from the outside and take photos.
