Vík is a tiny village on Iceland’s south coast and an easy place to base yourself for exploring the area. You’re just minutes from Reynisfjara’s famous black sand beach and basalt columns, plus the Reynisdrangar sea stacks out in the water (you can’t miss them). In summer, keep an eye out for puffins along the cliffs. It’s also a great jumping-off point for glacier tours, waterfalls, and other south coast stops.
