SwitzerlandMobility app : free and the perfect tool for people who are planning to trek in the Swiss Alps. Either you are looking for summer or winter hikes, snowshoe trails or canoeing, this is your go to app.
Swiss Topo: Similar to SwitzerlandMobility but it shows you more detailed routes with high quality maps. It is also free.
SBB app: Swiss public transportation app, it helps to plan how to get to the start of the hike. Also the price of the journey.
SwissMeteo: Swiss weather app. Free to download, shows you the weather for a week ahead. It provides all relevant information such as current measurements, warnings about severe weathers and natural hazards.
PeakFinder: one time fee of 5 chf when purchasing. With this app I can easily look up any mountains in my area. simply open the app, then the camera and point it to the peak I would like to know its name. I found many hikes with this app before.
SAC-CAS: I am using it to find Swiss mountain huts.
AllTrails, Komoot, Outdooractive are great apps to see which hiking trail other people hiked in the area. It provides details of the hike and pictures.
Strava: my go to app for tracking my hikes. Start the recording at the beginning of the trail in the Strava app and stop it when you finished the hike. It is always so exciting to see the distance and elevation gains of my hikes.
