For a truly magical Highland experience, you have to see the Glenfinnan Viaduct. From the car park, it's a lovely 15 to 20-minute walk up a hillside path to get to the classic viewpoint, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the iconic 21 arches curving through the glen. Time your visit to see the Jacobite steam train puffing its way across – the sight and sound of it echoing through the mountains is something you won't forget. It gets busy, so arrive early to soak in the atmosphere before the main event.
