Dublin’s Best Craft Beer Bars
Where to Find the Perfect Pint Beyond the Guinness
Kylie Kinsella
Dublin, Ireland
Dublin might be famous for its stout, but the city’s craft beer scene is thriving with innovative breweries, cosy taprooms, and bars pouring everything from hazy IPAs to rich stouts. Whether you’re a hophead, a sour enthusiast, or just curious to taste Dublin beyond Guinness, this guide covers the best craft beer bars where locals and visitors alike can savour unique brews.
From the buzzing Bonobo to the hidden gem Underdog, these spots prove that Dublin’s beer culture is about more than tradition—it’s about flavour, community, and a little rebellion. Grab a glass (or a flight) and let’s explore.
Underdog (Sadly this iconic bar closed in Nov 2025)
I would say this is a hidden gem in the city centre. I rarely hear or see people talking about this bar but it sure is grand! They're got a great selection of beers and a pretty consistent rotation. They also have a nice variety. The vibes are very chill and it's a great place for an afterwork hang or date drinks.
Rascals Brewing Company
This is a local brewery in Dublin 8 with a restaurant/bar for you to enjoy their delicious craft beers and yummy pizzas. Sometimes they have events on, so worth checking out their socials to plan your visit!
Fidelity Bar & Studio
This is a relatively new bar in Dublin with craft beer and wine on tap. The vibes are slick and cool, with huge speakers and good music. Definitely a good after work spot, especially if you work in Smithfield.
BrewDog Outpost Dublin
This spot is great for those rare sunny and warm days in Dublin when you wanna sit outside by the water and just enjoy life. If it's not a nice day, don't worry because they have tons of seating inside. Upstairs you'll find a few games like shuffle board and they have really good, if slightly overpriced pub fare.
The Black Sheep
Another great bar on Capel street. You'll find a lot of Galway Bay beers here, as well as other brands. I'm a sour beer demon myself and their sours never disappoint! They have board and card games to play and comedy shows on Tuesday nights (free - donations appreciated) and Saturdays (12€).
Bonobo, Smithfield
This is such a chill bar in Smithfield. They had an excellent sour beer the last time I was there and I'm just dying to go back. They also have a huge beer garden, which is great for those warmer days.
Tapped Late Bar & Kitchen
This used to be the porterhouse bar near trinity, which was also a nice craft beer bar. But MY GOD, has the place levelled up hard. I saw an awesome band here a few weeks back and I think they have gigs on the weekends, which is nice. The drink options are also plentiful! They also have a few games, like foosball for you to pass the time.
Urban Brewing
This is a bar/restaurant that is pretty chill upstairs and super fancy and cool downstairs. If you're just there to have the craft beer then you'll probably be sitting upstairs by the bar or on the covered terrace. This is on the outside of the CHQ building, so another great afterwork spot if you're in the area.
