Tucked away just beyond Howth Harbour, you'll find Balscadden Bay, a charming and somewhat hidden (or more-so unnoticed) cove that's a real local favourite for a refreshing dip. It's a pebbly beach with wonderfully clear water and stunning views across to Ireland's Eye. To reach it, you'll need to head down a steep set of stone steps from Balscadden Road, which adds to the sense of discovering a secret spot away from the main crowds. It's the perfect place to relax for an hour or two, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a seal bobbing in the water.
