The Marolles neighbourhood of Brussels is the perfect destination for those seeking an authentic city experience. The area's history dates back to medieval times, and visitors can still hear locals speaking a unique dialect, Brusseleir. The district is known for its numerous vintage stores and historic brasseries, as well as its famous flea market on Place du Jeu de Balle. Urban art covers the streets with comic book and Brueghel-inspired murals, and restaurants offer delicious local dishes. Sit down at a café - La Brocante is a neighbourhood favourite - visit various events such as the Exposium or Eleanor Ivory Weber's Delay Today exhibition, dance all night at Fuse to critically acclaimed DJs like Jennifer Cardini or take in the view from the spectacularly preserved Halle Gate. The Marolles has something for everyone looking for a uniquely Brussels experience.
