London Waterloo Station is a bustling hub in the heart of the city and one of the busiest railway stations in the UK. Nestled under the dramatic backdrop of Waterloo Bridge, this grand station has been around since 1848, when its first incarnation was built by the London & South Western Railway. Despite its history, the station today looks nothing like its humble beginnings; it is now an impressive complex, with over 24 platforms and serving 94 million passengers annually. To keep up with demand, it underwent major reconstructive works between 1994 and 2007, including the addition of a new entrance arch called Victory Arch that commemorates Britain's involvement in World War I. With so much to explore both on and off the tracks, London's Waterloo Station is the perfect starting point for an exciting journey!
