King's Road is one of London's most fashionable shopping streets and is known for its iconic 1960s style, becoming a centre of culture and counterculture during that decade. Mostly located in the boroughs of Chelsea and Fulham, it is an important 1.9 mile (3.1 km) thoroughfare that stretches from Sloane Square in the east to Waterford Road in the west. In between, visitors will find plenty of boutiques, galleries and other interesting attractions, such as the celebrated Peter Jones department store and the Saatchi Gallery, as well as historic buildings where notable figures have lived, like film director Sir Carol Reed. It isn't just about shopping! The road has welcomed many famous personalities over the years, making it a unique place to explore in London with its mix of culture and history.
