Colonna Traiana is an incredible Roman triumphal column in Rome, Italy, which was built between AD 107 and 113 and stands as a landmark of Emperor Trajan's victory in the Dacian Wars. Its design is one of a kind, featuring a series of 20 colossal Carrara marble drums, a frieze winding around the shaft up to 23 times and a spiral staircase inside granting access to a viewing deck at the top. With its ornate sculpture portraying 2,662 figures and 155 scenes, Colonna Traiana captures the grandeur of the Empire and brings visitors back to its historic past. Its beautiful artistry and architecture combined with its historical relevance make it an absolutely fascinating site to visit!
