Bankside is an area of London located just east of Charing Cross, on the southern banks of the River Thames. It boasts a long history dating back to its utilization by the Bishop of Winchester in the Elizabethan era. As development progressed, Bankside has become a major tourist attraction with plenty of things to do and see. Popular attractions include the Tate Modern housed in the former Bankside Power Station, as well as the replica Globe Theatre and several centuries-old historical landmarks. In addition, there are many shops, restaurants, markets, and leisure activities available in the district. Bankside is connected to the rest of London through various bridges, tube stations, and bus routes, accessible to all who seek out this vibrant corner of the city!
