A short itinerary to walk through the city taking amazing photos of Vienna's architecture. Overall at a fast walking speed this could be done in under an hour, but considering a relaxed pace and stops for photos or small detours, I would recommend at least 2-3 hours for it.
Start at the Fillgraderstiege, a beautiful staircase near the commercial street Mariahilfer Straße and about 10min walking distance from the U3 Neubaugasse station or 5min walk from the U2 Museumsquartier metro station.
From here to the area of Kettenbrückengasse is just a short 5min walk, and you will get to experience the beautiful architecture of Otto Wagner right in the heart of Vienna. You will be right next to the Naschmarkt, a lovely spot to grab some food, drinks or shop for spices or groceries.
Continue the walk in direction to the city center, towards the Secession musuem and its golden globe atop the building. Across the streets you will already see the top o Karlskirche (Charles Church), to which you will head towards as next stop. Tip: you can cross through the U-Bahn station or continue above the ground.
Walk through the beautiul park in Karlsplatz and enjoy the beautiul surroundings, see the TU Wien building (Technical University of Vienna) and appreciate the beauty of the Karlskirche from up close.
Last but not least, you can head towards the State Opera House, about another 10min walk from Karlsplatz. The beautiful building will inspire you to capture the Viennese architecture in intricate ways, for me, it was the play of shadows and light amongst the columns on the front.
This mini tour finishes right in the heart of Vienna, or you to continue exploring and capturing moments in this beautiful city. Enjoy!
