There’s a reason Oeschinensee is one of Switzerland’s most visited natural attractions. Surrounded by towering peaks and crystal-clear water, this alpine lake looks like something straight out of a postcard.

To reach the lake, you’ll take the gondola from Kandersteg, followed by a pleasant 20–25 minute walk downhill to the lakeshore. The most iconic views can be found on the trails above the lake.

Even if you’re not a big hiker, Oeschinensee is well worth the visit. During summer, don’t miss the summer toboggan run near the gondola station.
