This is one of those quiet little places that feels like you’ve stumbled across something special.
The monastery sits about a 20-minute walk from the nearest road, just off the road that leads down towards Kakome Beach. It’s also on the way to the Krorez hike, so it makes a beautiful first stop before continuing further along the trail.
There’s not much around here, and that’s exactly what makes it so lovely. The monastery is old, peaceful, and hardly visited, surrounded by nature and silence rather than crowds. In spring, it’s especially beautiful, with wildflowers growing all around the path and the hillsides, making the walk feel even more magical.
I love places like this in Albania because they don’t feel polished or overly explained. You just arrive, slow down for a moment, look around, and take it in. It’s simple, quiet, and full of atmosphere.
After visiting the monastery, you can continue hiking towards Krorez, which is one of the most beautiful coastal hikes in the area. Bring water, wear decent shoes, and take your time — this is the kind of place that’s best enjoyed slowly.
