Jan's videos and guide were extremely handy in planning our trip. The winter tips written for different attractions were extremely helpful in prioritizing the winter accessible waterfalls and locations. Most of the parking fees and payment system information listed in this guide are up to date and helped us pre plan for every stop.

Using The Guide as a Planning tool has been a game changer especially in being able to create your own journey based on one of the existing itineraries you can retain all the knowledge and tips from the original. Sharing with our travel friends has also been a great help.

Jan’s Iceland guide was extremely valuable on our September 2025 14 day ring road trip to Iceland. The issue with planning a trip like this is deciding what don’t you do. Jan’s guide helped us prioritize the sights along the route that were important for us to see without trying to “do it all”. Jan was also very responsive with answering questions we had in our route planning.

Jan’s Youtube channel was also valuable in giving us a sense of what we were going to experience. His straight forward approach in providing the dos and don’ts advice is refreshing.

We are thinking about a 2026 trip we will be using his guide again to plan our trip.

This guide has made my trip to Iceland truly special and unforgettable! It enabled me to escape the crowds, find breathtaking spots in nature and helped me experience the “real” Iceland (beyond the golden circle). A huge compliment to Jan for putting together a comprehensive collection of hikes, view points, waterfalls, restaurants, activities, stays - all with very good descriptions of what to expect. Jan, your guide (and all of your posts) made a huge difference to us in our trip. First, we chose the time of year we did based on the info you provided, and we were extremely well-prepared with the right clothes, the right plan, and a bunch of contingency options that you gave us. Two critical decisions were to rent a 4x4 campervan, and to be flexible in our journey. When the ring road was closed on the East coast we were able to quickly adapt. And it meant visiting an absolute gem of a spot that we likely wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our two days at your cabin were a huge highlight, and meeting you was simply the best!
