Velika Planina is a picturesque Alpine pasture in Slovenia, nestled in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. It features unique shingle-roofed wooden huts where herdsmen and their livestock spend the summer months. It can be accessed via cable car or hiking (note that the trailhead for the hike and cable car spot are about a 30 minute drive apart). Visitors can enjoy stunning views, traditional dairy products, and even stay overnight in one of the charming huts. Make sure to wear your walking/hiking shoes as the village does not have a paved road for walking!
