Bali and Java are separated by a short ferry ride across the Bali Strait. The most common route is from Gilimanuk Harbour in Bali to Ketapang Harbour in Banyuwangi, East Java.

1️⃣ Getting to the Harbour in Bali

Option A – Bus from Ubung Terminal (Denpasar)

• Price: ~60,000 IDR

• Duration: ~4–5 hours (depending on traffic)

• How it works:

  1. Go to Ubung Terminal in Denpasar.

  2. Take a bus headed for Gilimanuk (the ferry port).

  3. The bus will stop just outside the harbour area where ferry tickets are sold.

• Tip: Bring your passport, as it’s required to buy the ferry ticket.

Option B – Private Transfer / Grab from Canggu

• Duration: ~3.5 hours

• How it works:
