Ice skating on natural ice. It’s possible in the Swedish winters!
One of my favourite spots is Öje, where you can skate along both small and larger islands. Depending on the ice conditions, there are various tracks of different lengths available.
Don’t have your own ice skates? No problem, you can lent a kick sled (Nordic kicking sledge) or ice hockey skates at the parking lot.
After your skating session, warm up by making a fire in the tipi tent or at the outdoor fireplace, both located near the parking area.
You can park at the campsite in front of the lake. Be aware that the parking lot itself can get quite icy, take care when getting out of your car!
NOTE: For the most recent ice quality updates, check the local Facebook page (in Swedish only). Only go on the ice when you're absolutely sure it's safe.
