The Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is one of the oldest and largest botanical gardens in Europe, founded in 1932. It is a national natural monument and a key cultural, educational, and ecological center in Minsk.

Spanning around 100 hectares, the garden is organized by geographical zones, showcasing plants from the Far East, North America, Europe, Siberia, Crimea, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Visitors can explore diverse sectors and enjoy peaceful walks through different themed alleys dedicated to various types of trees and shrubs.

A highlight is the exhibition greenhouse, home to over 600 species of subtropical and tropical plants including a unique citrus collection with around 60 varieties of lemons, oranges, mandarins, and grapefruits — the only one of its kind in Belarus.

The garden also has scientific research facilities and restoration workshops where visitors can observe specialists at work. It plays an important role in plant conservation and environmental education in Belarus.

For tourists, it’s a wonderful spot to connect with nature year-round. Guided tours are available, along with seasonal flower shows and ecological programs. Easily accessible by bus or metro, the garden offers a peaceful green escape right in the city.

There are food points available on the garden’s territory, but visitors are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks. In 2025, a charming Japanese-style house was opened inside the park. During the summer, the garden hosts various festivals and cultural events, making it a lively and enjoyable place to visit.
