Located on the top of Mount Lovćen and built in 1974, it houses the remains of a Prince-Bishop of Montenegro, poet, and philosopher. The mausoleum was designed by a Croatian sculptor and is considered a masterpiece of modern architecture. It is made of white marble and is shaped like a pyramid. The interior of the mausoleum is decorated with frescoes and sculptures depicting scenes from Njegoš's life and work.
It is a place to visit for architecture, history, and for views as it is located 1,660 meters above sea level on the top of the mountain.
Many tours from different departure points include a stop here but it is possible to come on your own with a car.
