Bisbee is a compact, historic mining town built into steep hills, so expect lots of walking and wear sturdy shoes; streets are narrow and parking is limited, so plan to park once and explore on foot. You should do the Copper Queen Mine tour if you’re comfortable with low tunnels and stairs, and poke into the Mining & Historical Museum, art galleries and antique shops that cluster around Brewery Gulch. Evenings cool quickly because of the elevation, so bring a light jacket, and in summer carry water and sun protection. If you have limited mobility, know that many sidewalks and viewpoints are uneven or reached by steep stairways. For the full local vibe, stay in a small historic hotel or B&B and eat at a morning cafe before the day-trippers arrive.
