If you come to Slovenia, it's definitely to spend time in nature, and it's often much more convenient to have a packed lunch with you.
To avoid eating the usual sandwiches, here are two perfect solutions for your packed lunch:
MERCATOR: In the larger Mercator stores, for example the one in Bled, you'll find a deli section with a ton of delicious options. From breaded cutlets to vegetable gratins, roasted chicken, potatoes, lasagna, and much more. If you think it can't be good, don't worry, I was skeptical the first time too, but then I fell in love with it, and it's become a super economical and lifesaver solution, even when I don't feel like cooking much!
MLINAR: This is a type of bakery where, in addition to fresh bread every day, you can also find the famous Burek, focaccias, muffins, and many other delicious puff pastry items. One of my favorite things is the Burek with spinach and cheese.
