Løkken was possibly the busiest flying site I visited in Denmark. I’m not too sure why either, not my favourite, although still cool and fun in its own way. I think the nearby paid campground and the proximity to a busy town and ferry north to Norway is what draws the people here. Good for an all inclusive family holiday I guess.
I think the biggest feature with Løkken is the amount of WWII concrete bunkers clinging onto the side of the ridge, slowly being eroded away into the ocean, It’s very unique to a travelling Australian, they are also great fun to play with. I never flew this site on the Moustache, but it is the first site I ever sore one with my own eyes.
The launch area is a flat open grassy section (10m), stop here and watch the carnage for a bit, then walk 300m to the North to launch. I found it a lot easier here, with a friendlier gradient. You can fly to the North all the way to Rubjerg Fyr which gradually rises to 60m.
Possible to fly from Løkken to Lønstrup (12km) via Rubjerg Fyr. Pretty epic trip!
