Ardvreck Castle, located in Loch Assynt, Scotland, is a historic ruin dating back to around 1490. Built by the MacLeods of Assynt, it served as a stronghold until it was captured and destroyed by Clan Mackenzie in 1672. The castle is known for its association with the Marquess of Montrose and its eventual decline, with both Ardvreck Castle and nearby Calda House now standing as picturesque ruins on the rocky promontory.
