The abandoned DC plane on Sólheimasandur beach in South Iceland crashed in 1973 after running out of fuel, but luckily everyone survived. The eerie sight of the white plane against the black sand makes it feel like you're in a sci-fi movie. You used to be able to drive right up to the wreck, but now you have to hike for about an hour from the main road. It's totally worth it for the surreal photos and cool vibes, just make sure to go in good weather.
