After leaving West Thumb, take a scenic 30-minute drive down to Moose Falls. There’s a convenient pull out right off the side of the road where you can easily hop onto the short walkway, it’s literally steps from the roadside, so no long trek required! There are two viewpoints here: one up above, offering a sweeping view of the falls, and another where a quick trail takes you down to the base for a side angle perspective that’s equally stunning. I’ve visited in both autumn and winter, and I can tell you, each season has its own kind of magic here. Whether the shots are framed by fiery fall foliage or surrounded by snow, it’s always a magical sight!
Just a heads-up, if you're visiting in the winter, accessing the park is only possible via Snow coach or snowmobile, since most roads are closed to regular vehicles. It’s an entirely unique and beautiful experience, but it requires a bit more planning and a guide! We booked our winter experience through Scenic Safaris which was a tour of the park via the Snow coach from Jackson Hole Wyoming.
