Why buy the Torino+Piemonte Card
A money-saving city card
Or Amir
Turin, Italy
Turin is a city with lots of must-see palaces and museums, with admissions of 10-18 euros, and the Torino+Piemonte Card lets you visit most of them for free and gives discounts on other attractions, tours, and multi-day public transport tickets.
It also includes free entrance or discounts on landmarks in the entire region of Piedmont, and it is very reasonably priced, so it's almost impossible not to save money with it.
Only considering the Torino+Piemonte Card's price alongside the sites it allows you to visit for free (without looking at all the added discounts it offers), let me show you why this city card is one of the few in Europe that actually save you money.
Its current prices are 40€ (2 days), 46€ (3 days), and 53€ (5 days), and the full-price admissions of the top palaces and museums I know you'll want to visit (because they're awesome) are:
Royal Palace: 15€ (only 2€ of you're 18-25)
Egyptian Museum: 18€
National Museum of Cinema (without the lift): 18€
Palazzo Madama: 10€
Villa della Regina: 10€
National Automobile Museum: 15€
Lavazza Museum: 10€
Venaria Palace: 20€
Accorsi Ometto: 14€
Many other museums also charge around 10€.
Include some of those however you want to on your itinerary - it's so easy to cover the initial investment (without running from site to site!).
**Consult each site's official website to see if you're eligible for a discount - in that case you might not need the city card. Most are linked on the corresponding spots on the map.
**If you buy tickets on the official website of a museum/palace (most are linked on the corresponding spots on the map), you'll also see an admission option of 0€ that says you have purchased the Torino city card, which you'll have to show at the entrance.
Alternatively, you can get the Royal Pass, valid for 4 days and offering FREE entrance solely to the palaces and castles of the House of Savoy in Turin and Piedmont (and the Basilica of Superga), as well as discounts on a few museums and public transport, but I think the Torino+Piemonte Card is more useful.
