Makaino Ranch, tucked away in Fujinomiya at the foot of Mount Fuji, is a dream if you love animals, wide-open nature, and views that make your insta feed glow. There are so many photo moments: swings that frame Fuji perfectly, giant chairs or high platforms looking over pastures, goat-walking, sheep grazing, cows, the dairy products area, flower gardens — plus paths and picnic spots that let the scenery do the heavy lifting.

As for cost, entrance is about ¥1,200 for adults (junior high school students and up) and ¥900 for kids over 3 during March–November. In winter (December–February), it drops to around ¥1,000 for adults and ¥700 for kids.

Most of the lovely extras — pony rides, goat walking, feeding animals, making butter/ice cream, etc. — come with additional fees (sometimes just a few hundred yen) depending on what you choose.

Getting there: Renting a car is easiest. Makaino Ranch has free parking (big lot), and the drive gives you flexibility to stop for other views.

If you prefer public transport, you can take a bus from Fujinomiya Station (on the JR Minobu Line) that heads toward the Mt. Fuji area and get off near the ranch.

Plan on spending ~2-3 hours or more if you want to try several activities and enjoy photo spots at a relaxed pace.
