Wineglass Bay is one of Tassie’s most iconic spots – and for a bloody good reason. That perfect combo of white sand and turquoise water is just as dreamy in person as it looks on social media . But let me tell you, the real highlight here is Mount Amos. If you’re up for a challenge, this steep climb is 100% worth the effort for the jaw-dropping views over the bay. It’s about a 3-hour return hike, and I’d recommend tackling it in the morning when it’s cooler and the light is golden for the photos.

If you’re still feeling energetic after Mount Amos or maybe even the next day, you can tackle the Wineglass Bay circuit. This hike takes you around the bay, offering different perspectives and a chance to really soak it all in. The circuit is about 4-5 hours return, so pack plenty of water and snacks because you’ll need them. If you’re short on time or energy, just walk to the lookout – it’s much easier but still gives you a cracking view.

The area isn’t pet-friendly (it’s a national park), but it’s perfect for adventurers, photographers, or anyone who just wants to feel like they’re in a screensaver. Make sure to pack decent shoes for Mount Amos – it’s rocky and can get slippery. And if you’re staying nearby, reward yourself with a local Tassie wine afterward. It’s called Wineglass Bay, after all xx
