Hands-down the best views from an apartment stay on Heimaey in the Westman Islands. Personally, I like the ocean view apartments because you can see elephant rock and three other islands right outside your window, but the pier apartments are nice too.

I’ve always been a fan of traveling somewhere and feeling like it’s my home away from home. The big windows, comfortable and stylish furniture, along with having a full kitchen makes this place a perfect stay for those who want their own apartment in heart of one of the most beautiful places in Iceland.

While availability will vary, I do suggest avoiding the weekend of the annual festival, which is the weekend before the first Monday in August. That weekend is called Verslunarmannahelgin (Merchant’s weekend) because the Monday following that weekend is Icelandic Merchant’s Day, a national holiday. It’s almost guaranteed that all accommodations on the island will be booked up the entire weekend, even possibly a day or so before.
