🇬🇧 Burned to the ground during the war, standing as a quiet memorial before being rebuilt for years - and rising from the ashes as stunning and strong and beautiful as before, uniting different cultures and believes under its roof and in its very architecture... If there is one building that mirrors BiH's spirit ans history, it's Vijećnica, Sarajevo's city hall and former library! On the ground floor, you'll also find an exhibition about the war crime tribunal in The Hague – it's tough to walk through it but take your time to do it, as this is also such an important parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina's recent history and should never be forgotten.

🇬🇧 This is where my family goes to eat Ćevapčići, THE traditional Bosnian dish the country is famous for. I’ve tried a few of other restaurants in town, and this one serves the best ones for me. Order five, ten or fifteen little minced meat sausages with onions and kajmak!

🇬🇧 This hamam, is the last hamam in Sarajevo that still keeps the 500 year old bathing culture of the country alive! With the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the hamam culture brought to the country by the Ottomans became almost completely obsolete. But this hamam, part of a hotel, is still open to visitors!

The motifs always change and once in a while the owner and designer Miran works with artists to spread a message with his clothing. In the summers, they sometimes have DJ parties in front of their shop which is pretty cool.

🇬🇧 This museum is perfect for a rainy or cold afternoon. On two floors you will find optical illusions that never cease to amaze me - crazy how the brain works! The museum also has some cool photo setups for fun pictures - the staff know exactly what angle the photo needs to be taken at to make it work.

🇬🇧 Nothing tells more about the country and its people than the local cuisine – even more so when you get to know it in the home of a real Bosnian cook. We will pick you up in the late afternoon and take you deep into the mahalas, where the cooking class will take place in a Bosnian household. Together you’ll prepare about five Bosnian dishes. The evening is rounded off with local Herzegovinian wines and Bosnian rakija tasting. The cooking class takes place in small groups, the minimum group size is three people. Special couple or single rates are available on request. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available upon request.
