Matsumoto Castle is a historic Japanese castle designated as a National Treasure. With its striking black exterior and stunning views of the Japanese Alps, this five-tiered, six-story castle offers you a glimpse into Japan's feudal past. It's the best kept castle in Japan as they have been mostly destroyed in the past & been rebuilt since. Inside, you can explore displays of armor and weapons from the Warring States Period and enjoy the changing scenery throughout the seasons. We found it quite interesting to climb all the way up & learn about the past.
