Bagno Vignoni is a small and charming town located right in the heart of Val d'Orcia, not far from San Quirico d'Orcia. When I say is very small I totally mean it, there are only 30 residents living here, but it was one of my favourite spots in the area.
Here, there's a Renaissance-era thermal pool, once used by ancient Romans and later frequented by nobles and artists during the Renaissance. Though bathing in the main square’s pool is no longer allowed, the village is still worth visiting for its beauty.
Nearby attractions include the Parco dei Mulini, a protected area where the thermal waters flow, and the ancient Roman baths just south of the village. Bagno Vignoni offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by classic Tuscan landscapes, perfect for a relaxing day among hills, vineyards, and history.
From Bagno Vignoni, you can also enjoy stunning views over Val d'Orcia.
I'd include it in your itinerary if you have plans to visit San Quirico d'Orcia and want to go to the insta-famous Agriturismo Poggi Covili, as it's just between these two spots. It can take as little as 30 minutes to visit, but I'd stay here at least one hour or more.
