Located in the beautiful Willamette National Forest, Terwilliger (Cougar) Hot Springs is a popular destination for visitors looking to relax and soak in some natural hot springs. Conveniently accessible by car or a relatively short hike, this clothing-optional oasis offers four different soaking pools spaced apart by rock walls with temperatures ranging from 85-112 degrees Fahrenheit. The .25 mile trail leading into the springs is composed of densely packed soil and gravel and meanders through lush forests of primeval woodland. Parking is limited and camping is restricted to developed campgrounds in the Cougar Recreation Area. Pets (with the exception of service animals) are not allowed at the hot springs, but visitors can expect vault toilets, an information kiosk, and clothing rack for their convenience. A fee of $10 per person/2 hour session is necessary to access the area.
