This small city retains its mountain charm with a walkable downtown. It feels much more like an alpine village compared to big city Bariloche.
This itinerary will show you the highlights of Villa La Angostura in just a few days, but of course there is always more to see. There are more hikes, horseback rides, romantic sunset sails on the lake, and more.

🚗 How to get around VLA:
This itinerary is best seen with your own car.
Renting a car is also the best way to experience the lake district overall. Rent your car here. You would rent in Bariloche, where your flight would arrive.
Taxis: There are taxis in VLA, get a number of one from your accommodation. Note that you'll need to expect to wait minimum 10-15 minutes for your car to arrive after you call it and that in some areas outside of the city center you may have no signal.
Bus travel, however, is possible. Cities here are easily connected by bus. Check Busbud for schedules and to book. Remis and taxis are available once you're here but you may need. But getting around once IN VLA isn't as easy by bus outside of high season. During the summer there are more buses. Sample bus itinerary.
