The beautiful Val Roseg valley is closed to public traffic to retain its peaceful, wild atmosphere. So the only way to explore it is by foot, bike, or horse-drawn carriage.
The easiest way is with Wohlis- Kutschbetrieb, which offers their "Horse-drawn Omnibus" a few times a day. You can ride the carriage round trip, or just one way and hike there or back.
The omnibus drops you at the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, where most people will have lunch (don't forget to book a table). You can also start hiking from here, farther up the valley.
Open: mid June to October. Check schedule.
Spots are limited. You must reserve by email or phone at least one day in advance, earlier for weekends and holidays. info@engadin-kutschen.ch
Cost 2025: Adult CHF 25/one way, CHF 37/round trip. Children 4-12 half fare. Cash payment only.
Meeting point: 1 min walk from Pontresina train station, next to the Valetin wine shop - see on map
